Therapy is applied to your unaffected areas first, making it possible for the fluid to move out of the affected area, or “decongest” the region. MLD helps open the remaining functioning lymph collectors and move protein and fluid into them, as well as to help speed up lymph fluid flow through the lymphatics.

Osteopathic Manual Therapists or Practitioners of Osteopathic Manual Therapy follow the theory that imbalances in the human structure contribute to or are directly related to the development and/or maintenance of disease. Anatomy and physiology is the foundation of Osteopathic treatment. Practitioners recognize that the human body is self-regulating and self-healing – and will strive for health if given a chance. Our role is to encourage this self-healing capacity through manual treatment – to convert the physical into the physiological. We allow nature to do its job of removing any and all obstacles and obstructions that will interfere with the proper nutrition and drainage of the body’s tissue.

The first to respond when someone gets hurt, they are experts at injury assessment and rehabilitation. It’s that same mix of on-site care and active rehabilitation skills that makes Athletic Therapists so effective in treating the musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, and joints) injuries of all Canadians, whether on the field or in the clinic.

Athletic therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription and even bracing and taping. The treatment varies but the objective doesn’t: an Athletic Therapist's goal is to help clients return to their usual activities, whether that means playing competitive sports or walking to the mailbox and back.

Hi there,

I’m Dr. Laura Meyers, ND. I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor practicing both virtually and in-person in Oakville, Ontario. I was introduced to Naturopathic Medicine through my own experience with PCOS. After receiving my diagnosis, I was disappointed by the lack of support from my family doctor and specialist. I wanted a deeper understanding of why these symptoms were happening to me and if there was anything in power to address it.

After my initial Naturopathic consultation, I was equipped with the knowledge and resources regarding my PCOS. Most importantly, I left feeling empowered and capable of improving my own health and life.

I love working with those dealing with hormonal concerns such as PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid health and PMS. I’ve received extensive mentorship with fertility focused healthcare providers and I have worked extensively with patients on preconception, IUI & IVF support and continuing their care into pregnancy.

Taking the next step to address your health concerns can feel overwhelming. In working together I take my time to get to know you really well so that treatment plans can fit seamlessly into your life.

I’d love to get to know you more and help you on your health journey,

Laura

The infrared light waves are beneficial for pain relief, as they help relax muscles, reduce inflammation and increase blood flow.

People coping with depression or stress, or Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) will want to try infrared sauna and chromotherapy. SAD is sometimes known as “winter depression” because the symptoms are usually more apparent and more severe during the winter when our exposure to sunlight is lower. Symptoms include reduced energy, difficulty concentrating, and feeling sad. Infrared sauna therapy, along with chromotherapy, can relax and boost mood, and improve sleep.
